Faint hearted adventurer, I try to push my comfort zone all the time. Whether it’s climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge (petrified for the first hour), riding in a hot air balloon with a cowboy pilot (sure that we were about to crash in the trees from which I was going to fall and break my back), or selling my house and 95% of my possessions to travel the world (who the heck does this in retirement? Shouldn’t I be nestled in a cozy home somewhere??), I constantly look for ways to up my game in order to live a full life (including the creation of this blog which challenges me technically with operation and emotionally with content). I’ve slogged my way through 3 marathons (taking on the 1st just before my 50th birthday), did the 3 day trek to Macchu Picchu (altitude damn near wiped me out) at 59, walked The Portuguese Coastal Route and the Fishermen’s Way (the latter solo, such a lonely and empowering experience at the same time), backpacked through south east Asia with my daughters, done numerous several day cycling trips carrying my minimal gear (and being unashamedly ill prepared for the distances) and many other adventures.
I hope you join me as I continue my spiritual, emotional and physical journey. And pack light if you’re with me on my retired travel and lifestyle blog; you won’t need much! 😊
